The Thrower

Chet Snouffer began building and throwing his own boomerangs at the age of ten. Later, he began designing his own shapes and selling his works in 1976 while a student at Wheaton College , Illinois.  In 1979 he went to his first tournament in Washington DC and has been traveling the world ever since as a member of the US Boomerang Team formed in 1981.

Chet has won an unprecedented 12 U.S. National Championships and  3  World Championships. As a member of the US Team, he has won seven world team championships.  A charter member of the USBA, Chet has been active on the Board of Directors for the US Boomerang Association since the 1980's.

He has appeared and been featured on MTV, ESPN, CBS, PM Magazine, and in newspapers and magazines aroud the world. He has thrown boomerangs for companies as wide-ranging as Motorola® to The Limited®; The International Tennis Hall of Fame to Outback Land Development and Liebert Corporation®. He has thrown around the Saint Louis Arch and The Harding Memorial; inside the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Ballroom in NYC, and in the foyer of the Tarado Mansion east of Denver. Not to mention the streets of Paris, the beaches of southern France, and a parking lot in Des Moines, Iowa...

In addition to his boomerang activities, he is a former gymnast, gymnastics coach and gym club owner. He and his wife, Carmen have three children, Cody, Lydia and Lysandra. Boomerangs certainly run in the family. Carmen is a former national champion in Accuracy and Cody has been throwing since age two in areas as far flung as Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and across the USA! As a teen, he placed second in Long Distance at the National Championships to Brazil's Ricardo Bruni-Marx.
